Implementing Energy Saving Opportunities No. 22
As part of the ESOS or energy audit process, you might have found it hard to compile the relevant energy data, or you may have received recommendations to improved metering and data collection.
The practice of collecting and analysing data can help you identify areas of high or unusual consumption, and allows you to measure and monitor the results of implementation and communicate achievements to all involved.
The purpose of monitoring and targeting (M&T) is to enable an understanding of your energy consumption data; identify underlying factors which impact upon consumption; and set appropriate targets that allow you to review performance. This will subsequently enable you to identify avoidable waste or other opportunities to reduce consumption.
Once an M&T scheme has been set up, its routine operation should be neither time-consuming nor complex.
In our next newsletter we will discuss : Metering Strategy
Our national team of energy engineers are ready to undertake the design, implementation, monitoring, and financing of identified energy reduction measures on your behalf. Please contact us to register your interest.
